South America

For our 50th wedding anniversary, our son took us on a trip to South America.

Here are mostly the photos

Arrival in Buenos Aires

Teatro de Colon

One of our many walks around Buenos Aires

Our first night of many meat dinners. Vegetables were a rarity
Next day at La Boca
Cemetary La Recoleta, where Eva Peron (Duarte) is interred
We took the ferry across to Uruguay to the town of Colonia de Sacremento
Then a long bus ride to Montevideo

Museum de Carnival down by the port

The streets of Montevideo

Now we are off to Foz de Iguazu on the Brazillian side

A short taxi ride over the river to the town  Iguazu Argentina

We foraged for dinner, there is also another bottle of fine Argentinian wine

The falls from the Argentinian side

Off to Mendoza

A churrasco dinner. All you can eat about ten dollars

We bicycled to 3 wineries and the place where we rented the bikes, gave us a bottle of wine to drink upon our return

Museums and Parks we went to many

We wanted to see the countryside, so we took a bus to Santiago Chile

We spent a day walking around Santiago

The next day we met up with a friend of Tristan's and he took us to Valparaiso

We returned to Santiago and flew back to Buenos Aires for a couple of days before our return to Guatemala

This is the deathtrap elevator in the old apartment building that we stayed in upon our return

The japanese gardents in Buenos Aires

About 3 weeks of traveling, 8 takeoffs and landings, 115 miles walked, two bus trips, a ferry, a bit of subway, and a lot of taxis.....
It was a good trip
